$1.00 Admission for Students to PCC Volleyball This Week
This evening and Friday evening our JV/V girls volleyball goes up against two PCC powerhouse teams. We would like to encourage our student body to show our Senator Pride and support for our girls. The athletic department is only charging $1.00 admission for any student grades 1-12. Hope to see you in the stands! (5pm JV start, Varsity directly after).

Last, but certainly not least, is our new choir teacher, Mr. Albright! Mr. Albright will be teaching music at the elementary school for most of the day and will then spend the afternoon with both the middle and high school choirs. This is Mr. Albright’s first year teaching following his graduation from Valparaiso University in the spring.
Please join us in welcoming Mr. Albright to WT and the teaching profession!

Ms. Pych's 7th grade FACs students have been studying a unit on Conservation of Resources. They were challenged to create something new using recycled materials.

Emma Gilbert named Athlete of the Week
The Student Athletic Advisory Committee has selected freshman Emma Gilbert as Athlete of the Week for her performance as a starter in varsity volleyball. She has done a very successful job up at the net and also back playing defense. Emma always has a great attitude towards her coaches and teammates and is constantly smiling. She is a hard worker and an all-around great athlete.

Please view this important message from the East Porter County School Corporation.
The EPCSC principals have created a message for our communities about sportsmanship. Our rivalries are important and in many ways fundamental to who we are. We want to embrace this, yet at the same time understand where the limits exist. At Washington Township, we want to distinguish ourselves by doing things the right way. Please take a moment to listen to our message. On you Senators!

New Mentoring Program at Washington Twp Middle
Middle school can be a lot to navigate. That is why we are thrilled to announce a new mentoring program at Washington Township Middle School in conjunction with our friends at Our Greater Good!! We will be starting groups for 6th grade boys and girls initially and hope to start soon.
Mentors will come alongside these students to provide them a safe, consistent place to learn, grow and process the things they are dealing with at home, school and in the community. Here are a few facts about the program and the groups:
Meet weekly after school for about an hour - day of the week TBD by group
Consist of up to12 students and 4 mentors
Have snack, a check in time, a talk/discuss/learn time and maybe an activity
Groups ideally remain together until the students exit the program or graduate high school (mentors commit to one school year at a time)
Mentors go through a brief training and clear a background check

Each year, East Porter is proud to have so many incredible graduates making a difference in the world. Do you know an East Porter alumnus doing amazing things? We want to celebrate them! Nominate them for their achievements, accomplishments, or awards today!
