Last Thursday, April 2nd, Washington Township hosted fellow PCC schools for a Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) conference. These student-athlete committees have become standard practice in high school and collegiate athletics, aiming to promote sportsmanship, participate in community outreach, and serve as a liaison between student-athletes and administration. This is the second year in which WT has invited PCC schools to participate in this conference. The morning was filled with fun and games as well as an interactive presentation by Mr. Omari Pearson, Founder of Passion to Purpose. Nearly 60 student-athletes from Boone Grove High School, Hebron High School, Morgan Township High School, South Central High School, Tri-Township High School and WTHS took part in the conference, digging into ideas of sportsmanship, resilience, and teamwork.
Thank you to Mrs. Mateer for organizing the event, the student-athletes for their participation, and Mr. Pearson for his time.
