The 114th IHSAA Boys' basketball state tournament kicks off tonight with sectional action at Kouts. Our Washington Township Senators will play against Kouts at 7:30 PM. Ticketing links can be found at the end of this message. Ticketing will also be available at the door.
We look forward to our Senators competing tonight. We know that they will come prepared and play to the best of their ability throughout the tournament. I recently received an exemplary sportsmanship report from the IHSAA submitted by an official from one of our recent games. The report stated, "the athletes exhibited outstanding respect for the game, their opponents, and our officiating crew." Our student athletes represent our school, our community and our families with honor and dignity when they step on to the court. We ask the same of our fans. Too many times the headlines share poor fan behavior at our education based athletic events. Sometimes it involves taunting opposing players or inappropriate and foul language directed at players or officials. Be a fan, not a fanatic. Support our student athletes, don't cheer against the other team. We have high expectations for our teams, we should expect the same for ourselves! Go Senators!
