Selfie Friday
Mr. Atwood's 8th Grade PLTW class should be working on their input devices but stopped to do a selfie instead!
Have a great Friday!
Today we would like to introduce you to Ms. Johnson! Ms. Johnson will serve as both our media center specialist and technology assistant. She has already brought a tremendous amount of excitement and joy to the position. Ms Johnson can often be found working at the Chicago Street Theatre in her spare time. Most recently she was in the ensemble for the play Lear and played Portia in Julius Ceaser.
Welcome, Ms. Johnson!
Today we welcome Mr. Gast! Mr. Gast comes to us from Hebron Middle School where he spent 4 years teaching Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1. He is also the new head girls' varsity basketball coach. On top of those two new positions, Mr. Gast also welcomed his first child into the world just before school started!
Congratulations, Mr. Gast, and welcome!
It is day 15 of school, and teachers and students are settling into a groove. We thought now would be a perfect time to introduce you to our new staff! Over the next week or so, a new staff member will take center stage each day. Please help us in welcoming them to Washington!
First up, we have a familiar face making his return to Washington - Mr. Hutson! After spending a few years in Westville and LaPorte, Mr. Hutson returns home to teach Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and Physics. We are very lucky to have Mr. Hutson back with us.
Welcome (back)!
Nutrition and Wellness cooking labs are underway. Today students made chocolate covered pretzels.

SAVE THE DATES!!
WTS needs your help! So does our community! Are you aware of the shortage of blood at our local hospitals? Our schools want to help by hosting three EPCSC Blood Drives this year. Not only will your donations save lives, but will provide 9 scholarships for our students as well! Please put the following dates and locations on your calendar and donate at each drive! Links to sign up will be sent as the dates get near.
PLEASE donate at each drive! The more pints of blood we collect, the larger the scholarship is for the students!
Plus, keep in mind the coveted traveling trophy! Washington has had more donors for each drive since the competition started! The trophy looks great in our front office! Please help us keep it there!!
Senior photo will take place on Friday, September 6th. More information to come!
A reminder that there is a DECA Callout meeting on Friday, August 30th during SRT until 3:00pm.
