Russell Martin named Student Athletic Advisory Committee Athlete of the Week
The Student Athletic Advisory Committee has selected sophomore Russell Martin as Athlete of the Week for his performance as goalie in boys soccer. This is Russell's first season playing soccer, and he has contributed immensely to the team with his work in the goal box. He had a clean sheet against Westville and led the boys' soccer team to victory against Griffith on our team's senior night.

8th Grade students programming and sending messages with Bluetooth using their programable Microsoft Micro:bits in PLTW Computer Science for Innovators and Makers.
On Tuesday, October 1st at 7pm, the actors from Actors From the London Stage will join us for our Kickoff Event: an interactive drama workshop and open Q&A session. Our focus for the evening is Shakespeare's Twelfth Night but we will also spend time hearing about the many merits of learning through the theatre arts and participate in exercises led by our visiting actors, all of whom are professional performers with experience at Shakespeare's Globe and other London theaters. The event is free and open to the public, and we especially hope that you will encourage your students to join in (even on a school night!). It will take place in the Black Box theatre inside the Valparaiso University Center for the Arts.
On Friday, October 4th at 7pm, the actors will perform Twelfth Night in the University Theatre (inside the Valparaiso University Center for the Arts) as part of our VU Homecoming Celebration and family weekend. $10 Tickets are available here. Whether your students are deeply familiar with Shakespeare or just beginning to learn about drama, the intimate and dynamic approach the Actors From the London Stage bring to their performances (5 actors, minimal sets) can be a particularly rich learning experience.
