Nia Jordan Named Athlete of the Week
The Student Athletic Advisory Committee is recognizing volleyb.all senior Nia Jordan as Athlete of the Week. Nia is constantly pushing herself and persevering through her numerous shoulder injuries for her team. After tearing her shoulder before the first game against Marquette, Nia was hopeful and cheerful for her team, despite not being able to play. Facing Marquette again at the sectional game, instead of playing her normal position as a hitter, she played for her team in the back row to pass. Nia was able to do this because she is a very valuable player who can confidently be positioned anywhere on the floor. Through any obstacle Nia stays positive and always puts her team above herself, making her the true leader she is.

National Honor Society Induction Ceremony
Last night, High School and Middle School students were formally recognized for their academic excellence as they were inducted into our NHS chapter. In addition to the strong academic records that established one's eligibility for membership, our chapter members are leaders in many student organizations and serve our school and community. Our National Honor Society members are proud of these accomplishments and welcome new members who bring new energy to support our continuing work at Washington Township. These candidates have earned the National Honor Society's distinction by effectively demonstrating the four qualities that serve as standards for the Society (Scholarship, Service, Leadership, & Character).
Congratulations to our new inductees!

Do you have any extra pairs of shoes lying around your house that you don't use? Washington Township Schools are partnering with the Indiana nonprofit Changing Footprints to collect shoes of any kind in any condition. Gently used shoes will be donated to people in need and very used shoes will be recycled through the Nike Grind initiative. Sneakers, sports cleats, roller skates, fancy shoes, boots, and everything in between in every size are welcomed. Please consider supporting a sustainable and equitable organization by donating to the shoe drive. Donations can be brought to Mrs. Rea's room now until November 20th. Thank you!
