Washington Twp Middle/High School

Just like the Chicago Bears, the WTHS Track & Field Team had its own Fog Bowl at Lake Station Thursday night!! ON YOU SENATORS!!

Track competed against Lake Station, and the girls won with the boys coming in a close 2nd. The highlights of the meet are Ella Kodicek breaking 30 feet in the shot put and Hunter Krooswyk clearing 5 feet 8 inches in the high jump. Jody Stump smashed her 2nd school record of the week by running an unofficial time of 11:46 in the 3200-meter race.

Congratulations to WTHS Freshman Jody Stump for breaking the 21 year old 3200 meter run record formerly held by Miranda Russell (12:36) in 2005 with a 11:46 run at Lake Station Thursday night!

Track and Field traveled to Kouts to race both Kouts and Morgan. The boy's Super Senator of the meet is Willy Wilks from a strong PR and 1st place finish in the 2-mile. The girl's Super Senator goes to Jody Stump for breaking the one-mile school record by 10 seconds. The new record is 5:17. Congratulations on a great meet!

It's A New School Record!

Congratulations to Freshman Jody Stump for breaking the 46 year old school record set in 1980 by Sandy Nadolski in the 1600 Meter Run last night at Kouts. Jody lowered the record by 10 seconds running the 4 laps in 5:17. Great Job Jody!

Team Senator Captures 21st Annual Academic Invitational Championship

Congratulations to Washington Township's Black Team for capturing the 21st Annual Washington Township Academic Invitational presented by Blythe's Team Sports. Overall Washington Township placed 1st in Science and Interdisciplinary; 2nd in Social Studies and 4th in both English and Math.

Outstanding performances were logged by all schools who competed. Teams competing were Ben Franklin-3 teams; Boone Grove; Fegely-2 teams; Hobart; River Forest; Thomas Jefferson; Union Township-4 team and Washington Township 4 Teams.
