Chris Fields enters his 27th year in education by joining the staff of Washington Township Middle/High School in the 2023-24 school year.  Mr. Fields has served as principal at Kankakee Valley Middle School, Benjamin Franklin Middle School, assistant principal at Kankakee Valley Intermediate School, assistant principal and athletic director at Kouts Middle/High School, and assistant athletic director at Valparaiso High School.  He formerly taught chemistry at Merrillville High School.  He is married to his wife Christan and they have three wonderful daughters, all of which will be in college next year.  

Becoming principal at Washington Township is an honor and a privilege.  Washington Township is an academically strong environment with a wide range of extra-curricular offerings for all students.  The community is a rich source of support for the students, staff, and school.  Let's continue to work together to enhance a culture of excellence for all.
