March 13,  2020

Seniors:  Honor cord money is due to Mrs. Symer today!

 

AP Calculus students please report to Mrs. Hannon's room to begin your mock exam.

 

If you are taking the SAT tomorrow, check-in will be at 7:45.  Bring your photo ID, admission ticket, calculator, and 2 number 2 pencils.  

 

Any Junior or Senior that did not get a Prom Invitation come to the art room. We will selling  tickets starting April 1st to the 3rd.

 

Due to Gov. Holcomb's recent mandate restricting the gathering of large amounts of people at public events, Pancake Day is postponed.  We will be having it again at a later date once we have a little more normalcy. If you have Pancake Day tickets, hang on to them as they will be honored at the future date.  We will let you all know later on when we have that date.

Seniors:  Your $3.00 is due to Mrs. Symer by tomorrow if you’re ordering an honor cord.

Congratulations to the Washington Township High School Academic Team for placing 2nd at last night's PNW Porter County Invitational.

Overall out of 9 schools WTS places 4th in Science with the team of Jacob Zosso, Evan Bell, Emma Johnson, Ranger Scott, Andrew Nichols and Julia Tarpley. 

Our Fine Arts Team placed 4th with a team of Victoria Pollachek, Katie Evans, Gabby Newton, Andrew Nichols, Emily Reeder and Kaylee Reeder. 

The Math Team Placed 2nd with the team of Jenn Cahillane, JJ Stewart, Quinlan Scott and Katie Evans.  

Our English Team placed 2nd with the team of Allison Haines, Jacob Zosso and Adysen Straw. 

 Our Interdisciplinary Team also placed 2nd with the team of Jenn Cahillane, Jacob Zosso, Victoria Pollachek and Quinlan Scott.  

And Finally our Social Studies team placed first with a team of Jenn Cahillane, Brendan Gschwind, Quinlan Scott, Gunnar Casbon and Tyler Peters. Great Job and way to represent Washington Township!!!!

Seniors:  If you are earning an honors diploma and would like to wear a gold honor cord for graduation and the senior group photo, your $3.00 is due to Mrs. Symer by Friday. 

 

High School Academic team members should meet in the cafeteria at 3pm for tonight’s PNW Invitational.  We will be taking a team picture.

 

There will be varsity track practice at 3pm today.

High school students:  remember there is a College Fair at VU tonight!

 

8th graders:  there will be an important meeting on March 12th at 7 p.m. for you and your parents to talk about the transition to high school.  Please plan to attend!

To all students age 16 and older:

Today during SRT, a representative of Porter County voter registration will be here to talk about registering to vote and working the polls. On Thursday, March 5th, she will return to talk to students who are interested but missed the meeting due to afternoon vocational. She will be here from 7:45 to 8:15 in Simms room. 

 

Per upper management - Alternative Meals start tomorrow.  If you are negative in your account, PLEASE pay your balance.  If you are negative, you will no longer be allowed to purchase breakfast.  If you are negative more than $7, you will receive a cheese sandwich instead of your entrée.  Know your balance.  Bring your account current!

 

There is a junior honor society meeting today at lunch during the art room.    Today is our pizza day.

Congratulations to all the DECA state competitors.      Gunnar Casbon received a medallion for placing in the top 6, Katie Evans, competency medallion for the test.  Val Churchill and Gabby Newton were top 10 finalist in Marketing Management. Bret Boettcher and Quinlan Scott were finalist in Buisness Law.  The following three students will be joining our Thrive and Virtual Business students representing Washington Township DECA at ICDC: Megan Boby, 2nd place in Hospitality Selling; Charlie Schmidgall, 3rd place in Entrepreneurship, and JJ Stewart, 4th place in Sports Marketing.

Congratulations to the 6th grade class for winning the hygiene closet contest.  The class ended up with 2.91 points per student. 7th grade ended in second place with 2.65 points per student and 8th grade in last place with 2.26 points per student.  Thank you to all who contributed to Junior Honor Society's service project. If you still want to donate, you can. Just drop off your donations at the office. The gift card drawings for the middle school will take place on Wednesday during middle school lunch.

On Saturday, Feb. 29th from 10 am-3 pm in the Dold and Elementary Multi- purpose room, the high school choir is hosting a board game event! It promises to be a fun event! The cost is $5 per person and $8 per family. There will be concessions available. Please see any choir member for information or tickets. Tickets can be purchased at the door. There is a Choir Con Facebook page with more information.

February 27,  2020

We will follow 4 3 2 1 schedule this morning. Vocation students leave at 11. On delayed start days, vocation students miss most of 3rd hour and all of 4th hour. We change the classes in order to help the vocation students not miss the same classes repeatedly.

Congratulations to the Mock Trial team who placed 6th at the district competition held on Saturday.      JJ Stewart was recognized as the top attorney in the third trial.  Megan Boby was recognized as the best witness in the second trial. Evan Christie was recognized as the best witness in both the first and third trials.
